What is...a form of IP that acts as a source identifier for good or services? A trademark or service mark.

KPIP Law - US IP Attorneys

A Trademark or Service Mark.⠀

A trademark is for goods (e.g., a product) and a service mark is for...you guessed it - services (e.g., retail services) and they are not only a valuable asset for your company, but they are a form of consumer protection.⠀

The use of a mark (e.g., logo, sound, word, etc.) in connection with the good(s) or service(s) sets an expectation of quality and identifies the maker or provider of the good(s) or service(s) sold under the mark.⠀

Reach out to discuss how you benefit from having a trademark or service mark.
